Netflix Launches New 'Digital Theme Park' on Roblox

Netflix has launched early access to Nextworld, Roblox's new 3d interactive space.

The move to launch a dedicated space on gaming platforms makes great sense given this recent study that found that children aged 4 to 18 spend almost 3 times more time on Roblox than watching Netflix.

Nextworld is billed as the "central hub of the Netflix world," allowing us to delve deeper into Netflix's existing movies and series. Here's a more colorful description from the streamer:

Think: A digital theme park full of characters, Easter eggs and games. Immersive games like Stranger Things: Escape from Hawkins High, One Piece: East Blue Brawls, and Rebel Moon: Outsurts Battles connect you with your favorite characters in a whole new way. In addition, during the period, there is no Dusty thing "One Piece" of Luffy, Jimi from the rebellion ", and there is no guardian of each of them. Some of them may lead you through your quests - and you don't know who else you might encounter.

Interactive (i.e. animated) spaces allow users to collect objects and wearables to decorate their "fan pods"."Other social features include the opportunity to participate in mini-games and events such as premieres and viewing parties.

Netflix will host its first Nextworld exclusive premiere when it launches Jurassic World: Chaos Theory on 1/5/17, a week before its debut on the Netflix streaming platform. Before launching the platform, Netflix was experimenting with roblox's pre-screenings of other shows, such as unicorn Academy and Sonic Prime.

The launch of Nextworld early access is available on all consoles that support Roblox, mobile, and PC/Mac.
